Rudolph "Rudy" Strausbaugh, a well-loved father, friend and mentor, sadly passed away on April 11, 2025 at the age of 64. He was the youngest of five siblings. Rudy was born on January 31, 1961 in Santa Clara, CA. At the age of 13, he got an apprenticeship at Carpet Lane, and continued to lay carpet for 15 years in San Jose, CA. Rudy eventually went on to get his contractor's license and was known for his artistic eye and attention to detail.
Rudy was dedicated to family and loved his children: Rudy, Rachaelle, Sabrina and Jacob, who he has left behind. Rudy also leaves behind his two remaining older siblings, Ronald Strausbaugh and Deborah Sims. He joins in eternal rest his mother, Lupe Rivas, his brother, Jesse Strausbaugh and his sister, Christine Strausbaugh, who have preceded him in death.
Despite the tragedy, we celebrate Rudy for who he was and the impact he had on people. He was well-loved wherever he went, was known for having a big heart and was described as being "larger than life". He charmed people all the way from New York to California. In his later years, he spent his time fishing and cooking up his favorite Mexican dishes for those he loved. He moved to Kansas City, MO in August to be close to his daughter, Sabrina, and live out the remainder of his life fishing at his favorite lakes.
