Philip "Phil" Duane Clark, 62, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on July 8, 2026 after a long battle with cancer at KC Hospice & Palliative Care.
Phil was born on August 21, 1963 in Gardner, KS. He lived life as a free spirit, finding joy in traveling and putting his skills to work as a house painter. Having experienced difficult times himself, he had a deep compassion for people facing hardship. He often shared what he had with those experiencing homelessness, whether by providing a warm meal, offering a place to stay or giving away blankets and coats to help others stay warm. His kindness, empathy, and selflessness left a lasting impact on many lives.
Phil is survived by his daughter Jessica Hatfield and her husband Todd of Rose Hill, Kansas, his grandsons Kaleb and John Hatfield and his sisters Sheila Clark of Florida and April Johnson and her husband Shawn of Blossom, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith Carnnahan and Philip Clark.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Phil's cousins Lester and Barbara Carnnahan, whose love, compassion and unwavering support brought him comfort during his final weeks.
Phil has been entrusted to Valor Brown Funeral Service of Grain Valley, MO for cremation.
