March 8, 1932 — January 20, 2026

Nancy LeeLou Shultz, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Lee's Summit, Missouri, surrounded by her loved ones on January 20, 2026. She was 93 years old, having graced this world with her warmth and kindness since her birth on March 8, 1932, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Nancy lived a life filled with purpose and devotion. For many years, she served as a school secretary at HeadStart, McCoy Elementary, and Glendale Elementary, where her caring nature left a lasting impact on countless children and staff. Additionally, her meticulousness and dedication shone through in her role as a bookkeeper. Through her professional accomplishments, she embodied a spirit of commitment and excellence that those fortunate enough to work alongside her will always remember.

On October 18, 1952, Nancy married the love of her life, John Shultz, in Independence, Missouri. Their journey together spanned an extraordinary 73 years, illustrating a partnership built on mutual respect, love, and lasting joy. Together, they filled their home with laughter, celebration, and cherished memories, raising a beautiful family that would forever honor their legacy.

Nancy's active involvement in the community was evident through her work with the Parent-Teacher Association. She derived great joy from creating imaginative games for family gatherings, activities that engaged both young and old alike. Her playful spirit extended into her cherished role as a granny and great-granny, where she eagerly visited her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing in their lives and witnessing their milestones, with a new great-great-grandchild on the way, adding to her ever-growing family tree.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John Shultz; her brother Gary Corlies of Texas; her children Robert (Lori) Shultz of Harrisburg, MO, Diana Knapp of Lee's Summit, MO, Donna Denrow of Lee's Summit, MO, Eileen Krueger (Gary) of Lee's Summit, MO, and Phillip (Michele) Shultz of Independence, MO. Nancy was blessed with 12 loving grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of her first great-great-grandchild. Her family was her pride and joy, and her enduring legacy will live on through each of them.

Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frank and Jayne Corlies, her sister Connie Larkin and her son-in-law, Greg Knapp, along with a great-grandchild, Micah Stahlman, who all welcomed her with open arms.
