Nancy Elaine King

September 28, 1961 — January 16, 2026

Smithville

Nancy Parra-King, age 64, of Smithville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 28, 1961, in Kansas City, Kansas.

Nancy loved everyone deeply and was a fierce protector of many. She worked hard, was never shy about sharing her opinion, and was truly the life of the party.

From a young age, Nancy showed a deep love for her family that remained with her throughout her life. She was fearless until the end and enjoyed life to the fullest. When she wasn’t with family, she was known for her love of bowling with Stephanie and her family, spending summers at Worlds of Fun with her grandchildren, and cheering on the Chiefs, Royals, or KU. She was a true Chiefs fan, faithfully watching Chiefs games and attending tailgate parties with her son Thomas. RUMCHATA!!!

Nancy was a true jack of all trades, working over the years in many different roles. She was a superwoman in everything she did and took great pride in her work, especially as one of Kansas City’s best security officer of all time.

Everyone who crossed paths with Nancy will remember her humor, her homemade tamales, her kindness, generosity, love for Bruno Mars, and her lucky slots at the boat. Her love was welcoming to all, but she was a firecracker too. Don’t cross her or the people she loved.

Nancy was the glue that held her family together. She carried the stories of generations before her, keeping alive the memories of those who had passed and making sure their history was never forgotten. She was deeply proud of her heritage and her family’s history.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie White (Jesse White) and Thomas King (Rosie King). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Adrianne England, Niya Golden-King, Miya Golden-King, Sareena Whitebeck, Shawn Bond-Punshon, Lilly Bond-King, William King, Maddy Bond-King, Jasper White, Thomas TJ King, and Julian White. Her great-grandchildren October Whitebeck and Zayden Whitebeck.

Nancy is also survived by her sisters Ramona Dunlap, Gail Parra, Tammy Koegle, Elizabeth Arenas, and Melissa Parra, along with her brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many loving cousins, dear friends, and her favorite orange cat, Chillón.

She was preceded in death by her sons, William King and Christopher Weber, and the love of her life, Ernie Wagner.

Though our hearts are heavy, we give thanks for the gift of Nancy’s life and the love she shared so freely. She will be remembered always.

GO CHIEFS.
