Linda Lee Untersee

Linda Lee Untersee, née Gibson, passed away on September 17, 2026, at her home in Independence, Missouri, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on September 5, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri, and lived a life marked by steady purpose, quiet strength, and deep devotion to those she loved.

Raised in Grandview, Missouri, Linda learned the value of hard work early in life, working on the farm and carrying that diligence with her always. She was known as someone who set goals and reached them, meeting life with determination and grace. Though quiet in nature, her presence was deeply felt by the people around her, especially among her family and friends, to whom she remained devoted throughout her life.

Linda worked as a secretary with the Federal Aviation Agency, serving with the same reliability and commitment that shaped the rest of her life. Her faith was also an important part of who she was, and she was a Christian at Assemble Yourselves Together Ministries.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Untersee; her father, Maurice George Gibson; her mother, Ruth Marie Briggs Gibson; and her sister, Mary Ruth Gibson. Their memories remained part of her life and story, and the love they shared endured across the years.

Linda is survived by her sister, Elaine Sue Peterson. In her sorrow, she also carries the memory of a beloved sister whose life reflected perseverance, faith, and care for others. She will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, her quiet way, and the love she gave so faithfully to family and friends.

Those who knew Linda will remember a woman who lived with intention, stayed true to her values, and found meaning in both duty and devotion. Her life leaves behind a gentle and lasting example, and her memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to know her.
