Flora Ann "Penny" Ricketson

Flora Ann “Penny” Ricketson, 89, of Bates City, MO,
passed away peacefully at Aspire Senior Living Center,
Oak Grove, MO, on Sunday, April 12, 2026. She was born
February 18, 1937, to Edwin and Christina (Banks)
Ganter in Atchison, KS. Penny grew up in Leavenworth,
KS and graduated from Immaculata High School. She
married Donald E. Ricketson on June 2, 1956, in
Leavenworth, KS. They moved to the Kansas City area,
where they adopted Scott and Stacey. Penny had a
career in banking. Penny loved reading books, listening
to country music, spending time with family and friends
and going to the lake and Myrtle Beach.

She is survived by her son Scott (Theresa) Ricketson of
Bates City, MO, her daughter Stacey (Rhett) Thompson
of Macon, GA, her grandchildren Nate, Shane, Nick
(Amber), Trichelle (Cory), Liana (Gabe), Sarah (Trey),
Garet (Alex), Blake, Anna, and Alexander, 26 great
grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many
close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her
sister, Patricia (Patty) Kern.

Her celebration of life will be on Saturday, April 25, 2026;
visitation at 1:00 PM and service at 2:00 PM, at
Valor Park Memorial Gardens at the Gazebo. 30000
Valor Dr, Grain Valley, MO 64029. Following the service,
a meal will be provided at Bates City BBQ in Bates City,
MO.
