Dennis Gerald King

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Dennis Gerald King, 70, October 9, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on July 24, 1956, Dennis lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to his family, and enduring connections with those who knew and loved him.

Throughout his working years, Dennis was employed by Stone Container, Bennett Packaging, and Lake City Ammunition Plant. His career reflected a steady and dependable spirit, and he will be remembered as a man who gave of himself through honest work and commitment.

Above all, Dennis will be remembered by the family who shared in his life and love. He is survived by his wife, Linda King of Buckner, Missouri. He also leaves his children, James Schroeder Sr. and his wife, Lorena, of Frankling, Georgia; Tina Atewine and her husband, Randy, of Warsaw, Missouri; Jason King; and Tyler King of the home. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard King and his wife, Kathy, and Jerry King and his wife, Becky; his sisters, Dixie King and Carol King; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Each of them carries forward treasured memories of Dennis and the place he held in their lives.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Donelson; his father, Garland King; his twin brothers, Ray King and Bob King; and his daughter, Melissa Hammond. Their memory remained a part of his life, and he now rests with those who went before him.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Valor-Brown Funeral Services, 30000 Valor Dr., Grain Valley, Missouri 64029. Burial will follow in Valor Park Memorial Gardens.

Dennis Gerald King will be remembered with love and respect by all who knew him, and his memory will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
