Delores Francis Tompkins, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Oak Grove, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family on June 24, 2025. Born on November 17, 1933, in West Point, Nebraska, Delores was the daughter of Carl and Anna Parker. She grew up in Salem, Missouri, where she graduated from Salem High School, embarking on a life that would be characterized by love, devotion, and a deep commitment to her family and friends.

In 1951, Delores married the love of her life, Norman Tompkins. Their union, which lasted for 55 cherished years until his passing in 2007, was a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with laughter, warmth, and a profound sense of family values that they instilled in their children. Delores was devoted to her husband and took immense joy in caring for their family.

Delores was a proud and faithful member of the Catholic community, and she found solace and support in her faith throughout her life. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Father Joshua Barlett of St. George Catholic Church in Odessa, Missouri, for officiating and offering comfort during this time. Delores also received compassionate care from St. Luke's Hospice, Phoenix Home Health, and St. Luke's Hospital East, for which her family is profoundly grateful.

A dedicated homemaker, Delores took great pleasure in tending to her chickens, dogs, and cats. Her love for animals reflected her nurturing spirit, and her home was a sanctuary for all those she cared for. Delores was not only devoted to her family but also to her friends, extending her kindness and support to everyone in her life.

She is survived by her children: Dorman (Carrol) Tompkins of Gravois Mills, MO, Lynn Tompkins Knifong of Marshfield, MO, Susan (Roger) Jester of Blue Springs, MO, Robert Tompkins of Oak Grove, MO, Michael (Michelle) Tompkins of Grain Valley, MO, her daughter-in-law Mary Tompkins of Grain Valley, MO and her sister Pauline (Bill) Johns of Salem, MO. A cherished grandmother, Delores leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren who will forever remember her love and wisdom.
