David Howard Griswold

David H. Griswold passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 70.

David was born on September 6, 1955, the son of Louise and William “Bill” Griswold. From an early age, David developed an interest and talent for machining, beginning to hone his skills while still in high school. That early passion grew into a lifelong career as a machinist, a trade he took great pride in and practiced throughout many years with several companies.

David is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sharon Perkins Griswold; his mother, Louise Griswold; his sons, Ryan Griswold, David Perkins, and Anthony; and his beloved grandchildren, Aurora, Jameson, and Waylon. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Hughes and Linda Christian; his nephews, Greg Hughes, Jared Shepherd, and Jeffrey Shepherd; his nieces, April Hughes and Jackie Shepherd; as well as many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

David was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Griswold; his brother, Jeffrey Griswold; and his nephew, Charles Shepherd.

David and Sharon Perkins Griswold met in 1993, beginning a life together filled with family, companionship, and a shared love of square dancing. The two became avid square dancers, attending dances and events together and even traveling to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for the National Square Dance Convention. Their love for square dancing became more than a pastime -- it was a family tradition and a passion they shared with and passed along to their children.

David will be remembered for the life he built with his hands, the years he devoted to his trade, the dances and adventures he shared with Sharon, and, most importantly, the family he loved and leaves behind. His memory will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, mother, sisters, nieces, nephews, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
