Brenda Jo Swisher

Brenda Swisher, a devoted wife, mother, Mamaw and sister, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Brenda was a soft-spoken yet strong woman whose greatest joy came from the people she loved most -- her family. Her heart was fullest when spending time with them, and she never needed much else to feel content.

She was born on November 29, 1951 in Novinger, Missouri to Irene and Carroll "Vern" Snyder. Brenda was the youngest sister of Shirley, Patricia and Marilyn, with whom she shared a lifelong bond filled with love and laughter.

On August 8, 1971, Brenda married the love of her life, Kenneth Leon Swisher. Together, they built a beautiful life and celebrated over five decades of marriage. Brenda and Kenneth raised two children she adored beyond measure: Jennifer Nicole ("Jen") and Kenneth Eugene ("Kenny Gene"). She was also a loving mother to her late son, Brandon.

After welcoming her children, Brenda returned to school and proudly completed her college degree in accounting, later earning her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. She began her career in public accounting before joining Blue Springs Bank, where, through hard work and dedication, she rose to the position of Comptroller. Drawing on her deep expertise in both accounting and banking, Brenda went on to become a banking software implementation specialist -- a role she enjoyed until her retirement.

Brenda found her greatest joy in being "Mamaw" to Hailey and Wesley Eugene, who were the light of her life and the center of her world.

Her quiet strength, kindness and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her mother, Irene; her father, Carroll; her sister, Shirley; and her son, Brandon.

She is survived by her daughter, Jen; her son, Kenny Gene (Laura); her grandchildren, Hailey and Wesley Eugene; and her sisters, Patricia and Marilyn.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Brenda's life on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Gene & Kelley's Old DX Station, 427 Front St., Novinger, MO 63559, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
