Billy Dean Hass, 88, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on July 2, 2026 at Avalon View Health and Wellness in Liberty, MO. Billy was born on March 3, 1938 in Grant City, MO to Earl and Beulah (Wilson) Hass.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Beulah; brothers Leroy, Frankie and Phillip Hass; sister Tresa Miller; and son Timothy Hass.
Bill is survived by his children: sons Michael Hass (Valerie) of Trimble, MO, and Gregory Hass (Tammie) of Kansas City, MO; and daughter Brenda Dickerson (Bill) of Kansas City, MO. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill served two years in the Air National Guard Reserve. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, cutting wood, and just being in the woods hunting mushrooms. His biggest love was sprint car racing on dirt. He always said, "If it isn't on dirt, it ain't racing!" Bill went with his sons and grandsons to the Knoxville National Races in Iowa for over 25 consecutive years, giving them all memories that will last a lifetime. He also never met a meal he didn't like! His favorites were fried chicken, ham and beans, chili, and chili dogs, just to name a few. It was guaranteed that if anyone were to have a fish fry, you could bet he would be there.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Cremation in the care of Valor-Brown Funeral Services of Grain Valley, MO.
